Practical Information

COVID-19 Measures

We are committed to providing a safe environment for all participants of the summer school (and hotel staff). The event will be held in accordance with the local public health regulations valid at the time.

As of today (March 19), a negative COVID test or proof of vaccination or proof of recovery is necessary, both for travel to Germany and at the conference venue. Masking (FFP2/KN95/N95) is required in public transportation and might also be required while moving around the venue.

Update: As of today (July 2022), almost all COVID restrictions have been lifted. Masking is still required in public transportation, but a simple medicinal mask will do. Due to rising case numbers, we just ask participants to do a voluntary self-test prior to their arrival.

The regulations may be subject to change, and we’ll do our best to update the information accordingly.

We won’t be able to provide individual guidance regarding possible travel restrictions. Participants from abroad should consult official government sources (and possibly their airline) prior to their departure.

Accommodation

The participation fee of €450 includes 5 nights accommodation in a (shared) double room at the conference hotel:

  • Check-in: Monday August 1
  • Check-out: Saturday August 6

Please let us know if your dates of arrival or departure differ. If you want us to reserve a room for additional nights, we can try to do so at extra costs.

If the summer school can take place at full capacity,  most students will share a double room with one other person (we will do our best to take your preferences regarding the roommate into account). A limited number of single rooms is available, but we can only honor requests for a single room under special circumstances.
